Getting to Loncon 3

Our travel pages contain more detailed information for travel to ExCeL, including journeys from the airports. This page is mostly concerned with on-the-day travel.

The nearest Docklands Light Railway (DLR) station to our end of ExCeL is Prince Regent. There is another station at the west end of ExCeL called Custom House which you may wish to use if you’re heading for one of the hotels at the west end of the site.

ExCeL’s own website has an interactive map which can suggest routes from to these DLR stations from London mainline stations and airports.

ExCeL have prepared this map showing major local roads. The postcode of ExCeL is E16 1XL and they recommend you use that for searching on e.g. (note, however, that it points you at the west end of ExCeL whereas we’re at the east end). However, for Sat Nav purposes they recommend using postcode E16 1DR. Parking information is here.

The Transport for London (TFL) website includes a page of status updates for the various Underground lines and the DLR. From this page you can also search for live departures, status information, route maps and timetables

They also maintain a ‘planned works’ calendar. We advise you to check this before you travel but we note that currently the following works are shown for the Loncon 3 period:

Part closure – District line
Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 August, no service between Aldgate East and Upminster. Replacement buses operate.

Part closure – Hammersmith & City line

Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 August, no service between Moorgate and Barking. Replacement buses operate between Aldgate and Barking.

Part closure – Jubilee line
Sunday 17 August, no service between Finchley Road and Waterloo. Replacement buses operate between Finchley Road and Baker Street. Replacement buses operate.

The National Rail website also includes a service indicator and a schedule of future engineering works.

Finally, the Highways Agency shows traffic incidents on major trunk roads and planned roadworks.
