Hall passes
A Hall pass provides an opportunity to sample some of the many elements of a Worldcon at a low price.
Hall passes are available in limited numbers for Friday, Saturday and Sunday and provide access to the Exhibits Hall which is open daily between 10 AM and 6 PM. This includes:
- the dealers' zone featuring 90 dealers selling new, secondhand and collectable books, magazines, comics, artwork, games, jewellery, t-shirts and other clothing, collectables and more
- displays inspired by the work of our guests, and many, many more from political cartooning & science fiction to a model railway inspired by the Discworld books of Terry Pratchett
- art show including work from over 90 science fiction and fantasy artists (Note that the art show will close at noon on Sunday, to be followed by the art auction at 2PM. Hall pass holders may purchase art in the auction.)
- author signings by our guests and many other professionals from the field of science fiction and fantasy. A schedule will be available and there is no charge for an autograph
- a limited amount of programming, mostly concerned with artwork and including an opportunity to meet our artists-in-residence
There are a number of facilities providing refreshments on the public boulevard of ExCeL.
The Hall pass does not include access to:
- the main programme of the convention, approximately six hundred items over five days with up to a dozen items to choose from at a time. There will be panel discussions, talks, workshops, readings, signings, games, screenings, and debates
- our major events including the Hugo and Retro Hugo Awards, the masquerade, the full orchestral concert, and several plays including the world premiere of The Anubis Gates
- our hospitality hall/fan village, with more programme items, social space, and parties until 2 AM
- our publications, including a pocket guide to the full convention and a souvenir book
Hall pass holders do not get voting rights for the 2014 Hugo and 1939 Retro Hugo Awards, or access to the online voter packet. These are only available to full members.
Hall pass holders may, if they wish, upgrade their pass to a day admission or even a full membership at our on-site registration desk.
