Signing Sessions at Loncon 3
We appreciate that many Loncon 3 attendees want an opportunity to get books, artwork, and other items signed by the people who created them – especially since you'll also have the chance to buy their books, prints and other merchandise in the dealers' zone and art show in the Exhibits Hall.
One of the great things about a Worldcon is the opportunity to meet and mingle with people from across the SF&F community. We also know that writers, artists and other professionals attending Worldcon enjoy the chance to meet their fans and to sign your copies of their work. But like everyone else, they also deserve time to take a break, network, and enjoy a quiet chat or a lively party with old friends and new.
To ensure a proper balance, we will host specific signing sessions for our Guests of Honour, authors, artists, and other interesting people working in the field of science fiction and fantasy. Scheduled signing sessions allow attendees a chance to have their artefacts signed while giving the people doing the signing time to participate in the rest of the convention like the rest of us.
Remember, signings have been scheduled based on requests for signing slots from participants when they complete our programming survey. The signing schedule is posted below so that you have an opportunity to plan what you'll bring or buy for signing. However, please note that it is still subject to change so please check the schedule on the day. The programme guide will be regularly updated.

There will not be space nor facilities for selling books in the signings space. However, the main signings space is adjacent to the dealers' zone and of course readers may bring their own copies to be signed.
In order to make signings run smoothly, please limit yourself to three items per signing. In certain cases, the signing staff might have to lower the number of books per pass. Once you've had three books signed, you may go to the end of the line for more as long as there is time for repeat signings. There will not be space available to 'corral' additional books for signings.
We respectfully ask that readers refrain from taking selfies with the author.
Signings are scheduled for 60 or 90 minute slots; however, the actual signing times will be 50 minutes or 1 hour 20 minutes. The 10 minute break allows for adequate time for the next scheduled authors to arrive and take their place. If the line becomes too long for the author to sign for everyone, the staff may need to close the line before the session is over.
Please be respectful of the other readers in line with you.
